Overview

Experience the magic of Tanzania by immersing yourself in a unique blend of yoga, a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, and meditation on stunning, secluded beaches. With experienced guides by your side throughout the journey, you’ll enhance your breathing techniques, even at high altitudes.

The Lemosho Route is typically completed in 8 days, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a longer trek to acclimatize properly.

This route connects with the Machame Route at Shira 2 Camp. As a professional Mountain Guide, I highly recommend this path for its perfect mix of fewer crowds, breathtaking scenery, and a high success rate for summiting. The route’s beautiful landscapes facilitate daily acclimatization, allowing your body to adjust to the environment and effectively combat high altitude sickness.

Day 1:

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and enjoy a seamless transfer to Moshi, where you’ll settle into a cozy hotel with breakfast included. Meet your guide, who will assist you in checking your climbing gear and clothing to ensure you’re fully prepared for the adventure ahead.

Day 2:

Embark on a journey to Kilimanjaro National Park, where your hiking adventure begins at Mti Mkubwa. Enjoy a refreshing tea break followed by a rejuvenating yoga session. Yoga on Kilimanjaro is entirely achievable, and beyond Kilimanjaro you can also enjoy yoga sessions during your safari adventures or while relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar.

Day 3:

Start your day with a refreshing breakfast followed by an invigorating yoga session. Then, embark on a scenic hike to Shira 2 Camp, where breathtaking views await you. Numerous individuals arrive at Kilimanjaro with their fitness enhanced through various yoga practices. The synergy between yoga and the mountain is undeniable, as both promote flexibility, physical stamina, and mental clarity.

Day 4:

Start your day with a nourishing breakfast followed by another yoga session. Then follow the scenic path that leads to Barranco Camp. Embracing yoga is essential for you. It’s crucial to understand that practicing yoga on Kilimanjaro goes far beyond merely capturing the perfect Instagram shot. You can’t depend only on the allure of impressive poses like a top-down legless pincha or a press-handstand to support your journey.

Day 5:

After refreshing breakfast, embark on a scenic hike to Karanga Camp, followed by an invigorating yoga session. f you’re already engaged in yoga, you’re ahead of many climbers tackling Kilimanjaro. Whether you live on the tall building, or you’re a marathon runner, cross-fitter, or ballet dancer, take comfort in knowing that your body is well on its way to being ready for the challenge.

Day 6:

Start your day with a nourishing breakfast followed by hike to Barafu Camp and rejuvenating yoga session. To minimize the chances of experiencing Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) and the more severe forms of altitude sickness, it’s essential to take proactive measures before and during your Kilimanjaro ascent. Here are some key strategies to significantly reduce your risk: pace yourself, prioritize hydration by drinking water consistently, utilize Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) for optimal hydration, consume a nutritious diet, consider altitude medication, ensure you get ample rest, and assess your guide’s expertise and approach to managing altitude sickness. By following these guidelines, you can enhance your chances of a safe and enjoyable climb.

Day 7:

Embark on a midnight hike to the summit, then descend to Mweka Camp for a refreshing tea and rejuvenating yoga session.

Day 8:

Start your day with a refreshing breakfast followed by a rejuvenating yoga session. Then, embark on a scenic hike to Mweka Gate before driving to Moshi for an overnight stay.
