Once you enter Tarangire, a day of breathtaking wildlife encounters begins. Known as the “Elephant Playground,” the park is home to one of the largest elephant populations in Africa. By late morning, you’ll arrive in the Serengeti, renowned for its vast savannahs and abundant wildlife. Your game drive begins immediately, guided by a knowledgeable driver eager to share fascinating details about the park’s animals and landscapes. Watch lions basking under acacia trees, cheetahs stalking their prey, and herds of elephants moving gracefully. The Serengeti’s sheer diversity ensures every moment is a feast for the senses.

Your guide will ensure you capture these unforgettable moments while learning about the Serengeti’s unique ecosystem.
You may also visit the Serengeti Visitor Centre, where you can delve into the park’s history and conservation efforts. Learn about Bernhard Grzimek and the Frankfurt Zoological Society, whose dedication helped preserve this iconic wilderness. Wildlife sightings continue here, with hyrax, mongoose, and colourful birds often nearby.
After lunch, journey southeast toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Passing iconic landmarks like Simba Kopjes and Naabi Hill Gate, enjoy panoramic views and perhaps spot a vibrant agama lizard among the rocks.

Your final safari day begins with an early start, departing at 6:00 AM to descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” is a natural haven for diverse wildlife.
As you descend, the lush Lerai Forest comes into view, a habitat for elephants, including older males who graze on the soft swampland grass. The crater floor hosts an incredible array of animals: approximately 15,000 wildebeest, 9,000 zebras, 400 hyenas, and 120 lions. Keep an eye out for rare black rhinos, elusive servals, and Thomson’s gazelles. Hippos thrive in the pools, while colorful flamingos add a vibrant touch to Lake Magadi.
After a breathtaking morning game drive and picnic lunch, you’ll begin the 3.5-hour journey back to Arusha, reflecting on the incredible sights of your safari adventure.
