You’ll then be driven to your accommodation in Arusha, where you’ll receive a detailed briefing about the exciting safari journey ahead. After enjoying breakfast in Arusha, you’ll set off on a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, immerse yourself in Tanzania’s vibrant landscape, spotting Maasai herdsmen tending to their flocks and experiencing the warmth of the local culture.

Your knowledgeable guide will share insights about the journey, answering questions and enriching your experience.

Once you enter Tarangire, a day of breathtaking wildlife encounters begins. Known as the “Elephant Playground,” the park is home to one of the largest elephant populations in Africa. Watch as herds gather near the Tarangire River or find shade under the iconic baobab trees. Beyond elephants, the park teems with lions, buffalo, zebras, gazelles, and graceful giraffes.

For bird enthusiasts, the park offers vibrant sights such as lilac-breasted rollers and secretary birds. Keep an eye out for fascinating creatures like the agama lizard and the tiny hyrax, surprisingly related to the elephant.

After an exhilarating game drive and a picnic lunch amidst the golden savannah, you’ll journey to the lush Ngorongoro Highlands, where cooler air and serene landscapes await.

After an early breakfast, set out on a scenic journey from Karatu to the world-famous Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Tanzania’s oldest and most celebrated park. The 166-kilometer drive takes approximately 3.5 hours, offering breathtaking views as you pass through the lush Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

By late morning, you’ll arrive in the Serengeti, renowned for its vast savannahs and abundant wildlife. Your game drive begins immediately, guided by a knowledgeable driver eager to share fascinating details about the park’s animals and landscapes. Watch lions basking under acacia trees, cheetahs stalking their prey, and herds of elephants moving gracefully. The Serengeti’s sheer diversity ensures every moment is a feast for the senses.

Capture stunning photos of zebras, antelopes, and maybe even a leopard lounging in the shade. Let the serenity and raw beauty of nature leave a memorable mark on your heart.

After breakfast, begin your morning with an exciting game drive in the Serengeti, focusing on the Seronera region, famous for its abundant wildlife.

The Seronera River, with its year-round water supply, attracts diverse animals, including large lion prides, hippos in cool pools, and herds of elephants.

Your guide will ensure you capture these unforgettable moments while learning about the Serengeti’s unique ecosystem.

You may also visit the Serengeti Visitor Centre, where you can delve into the park’s history and conservation efforts. Learn about Bernhard Grzimek and the Frankfurt Zoological Society, whose dedication helped preserve this iconic wilderness. Wildlife sightings continue here, with hyrax, mongoose, and colourful birds often nearby.

After lunch, journey southeast toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Passing iconic landmarks like Simba Kopjes and Naabi Hill Gate, enjoy panoramic views and perhaps spot a vibrant agama lizard among the rocks.

Your final safari day begins with an early start, departing at 6:00 AM to descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” is a natural haven for diverse wildlife.

As you descend, the lush Lerai Forest comes into view, a habitat for elephants, including older males who graze on the soft swampland grass. The crater floor hosts an incredible array of animals: approximately 15,000 wildebeest, 9,000 zebras, 400 hyenas, and 120 lions. Keep an eye out for rare black rhinos, elusive servals, and Thomson’s gazelles. Hippos thrive in the pools, while colorful flamingos add a vibrant touch to Lake Magadi.

After a breathtaking morning game drive and picnic lunch, you’ll begin the 3.5-hour journey back to Arusha, reflecting on the incredible sights of your safari adventure.

Departure:
Your safari ends in Arusha at around 5:00 PM. If your flight is scheduled for the next day, consider booking an extra night’s stay for a smooth departure.

  • Tipping
    • Tipping is appreciated as a gesture of gratitude and is customary in Tanzania. The recommended amounts for Tipping in Tanzania are:
    • $30 per day per couple for a driver guide.
    • For the accommodation staff, use the communal “Tip Box” at reception ($5-$7 per day per guest).
  • Program Changes
    • Any changes to the itinerary made by the guest during or before the safari are not covered.
  • Post-Safari Accommodation
    • The tour ends in Arusha at 17:00 hrs. Guests needing a flight the next day must book an additional night’s accommodation (not included in the package). Also, late check-out (day room use until 18:00 hrs) is available for an extra fee.
  • Travel Insurance
    • Travel insurance is not included and is highly recommended for the trip.
  • Drinks at Accommodations
    • Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks at lodges or camps are not part of the package.
  • Laundry Services
    • Laundry charges are not included and must be paid directly to the accommodation as per their rate.
