13 Days Victoria Falls, Chobe and Kruger Park Experience

Let our safari itineraries guide you to South Africa’s most iconic and hidden treasures.

  • Day 1-2: Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls, a spectacular sight of beauty and grandeur forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Locally called ‘Mosi-o-a-Tunya’ (The Smoke that Thunders), the two-kilometer-wide Victoria Falls is the greatest curtain of falling water in the world – more than five hundred million cubic meters of water per minute plummet into a gorge one hundred meters down. It transforms the Zambezi from a placid river into a ferocious torrent. Facing the Falls is another similar cliff capped by mist-soaked rainforest, providing the visitor with unparalleled views of the Falls.

View one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, first from Livingstone on the Zambian side, under the African sun. On day two you will be guided across the bridge to the Zimbabwean side of the Falls for the Rain Forest Walk. But Livingstone is not only the gateway to the Falls. Participate in many other optional activities such as boat rides, microlight or helicopter flights, canoeing and white water rafting at your own cost.

    Meals: Dinner and Breakfast

    Accommodation: Maramba River Lodge

  • Day 3-4: Chobe National Park Botswana

  • Day 5-6: Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa

Transfer to Kazungula border, take a ferry across the border to Botswana and transfer to Chobe National Park, one of the most densely populated game parks in the world, offering the ultimate African experience and excellent game viewing. It is Botswana’s third largest national park and known as one of the best natural wildlife and wilderness areas in the country. The diversity of habitat sustains a wide variety of animals including the water-loving hippos and crocodiles as well as predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs and its spectacular elephant population. Over 70 000 elephants roam in the area, making it the largest continuing surviving elephant population on earth. Late afternoon visits to the water’s edge offer hours of fascinating viewing and photo opportunities. Herds of buffalo can also be seen.

Included in the tour is a Chobe River Boat Cruise and an early morning or late afternoon Game Drive on an open 4×4 vehicle, both excellent activities for viewing the best wildlife on the Chobe river banks.

    Meals: Dinner and Breakfast

    Accommodation: Chobe Safari Lodge

  • Day 7-8: Letaba Rest Camp Kruger Park

Transfer by ferry back to Zambia and Livingstone Airport to take a direct flight to Nelspruit Airport, close to the Kruger National Park. The Greater Kruger National Park (GKNP) refers to the over twenty private reserves to the west of the Kruger National Park (KNP) which add 180 000 hectares to the reserve. In total, the whole area covers 20 000 000 hectares of unfenced, wild reserve with free movement of game across this spectacular land. The Greater Kruger Area is the largest and most densely populated game area in South Africa.

Spend two nights at the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve, a small, exclusive game reserve with very few lodges and very low vehicle density – guaranteeing that you will have exclusivity with expert trackers on game drives to maximise your sightings. Stay at the private Pungwe Lodge in a semi-luxury tented camp where you can indulge in excellent dining. Included is your afternoon open 4×4 game drive and a guided game walk the following morning.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

    Accommodation: Pungwe Safari Camp

  • Day 9-12: From Kruger Park via the Panorama Route to Johannesburg and flight to Cape Town

Transfer from the intimate Manyeleti Game Reserve to the larger Kruger Park, which stretches for about 350 km from south to north along the Mozambique border. Experience close encounters in a natural unfenced environment with the Big 5: elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard, but also with wild dog, cheetah, zebra, giraffe and a variety of indigenous antelope. It is paradise for the wildlife enthusiast with close to 150 mammal species, over 380 species of indigenous trees, as well as over 500 bird species. Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape.

The idyllic Letaba Rest Camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the Kruger National Park. The name means “river of sand”, and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing. Stay in self-catering en-suite bungalow accommodation where your guide will provide two meals per day and take you on stretched-out game drives.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

    Accommodation: Letaba Rest Camp
